SeriesFest · Denver, Colorado · 2025–2026
Words & photographs — Sindbad Horizon
For a few days each spring, SeriesFest turns Denver into a room where creators, audiences, and industry actually share the same air.
We've now sat in that room five times: the full 2025 festival, a November screening between seasons, a February premiere, a March fashion panel, and back for the main event in May 2026. We just kept showing up.

The deepest visit.
Official-selection screenings, on-stage Q&As, and panels, back to back. There's a saying about SeriesFest — you simply couldn't pull off this kind of intimate, high-access event in New York or LA.

A screening, and the craft underneath it.
SeriesFest presented Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy, then put the creator and showrunner on stage — how structure, tone and perspective shape what an audience understands.

Not a nostalgia trip.
SeriesFest brought Soul Power: The Legend of the American Basketball Association to the Sie FilmCenter for a screening and Q&A. As moderator Vic Lombardi framed it: this is much deeper than that — it's real.

A nervous system, before dialogue.
A scouting mission to The Cable Center — a runway of more than forty models and costume installations, and a masterclass from Emmy-winning costume designer Molly Rogers.

The room fills back up.
The first-look screening of The Four Seasons Season 2, the NBC100 drama-writers panel, and the Soirée's inaugural Visionary Award, presented to John J. Sie.
Season 12, in fullA counter-thesis kept surfacing across all five visits: as the synthetic proliferates, the value of real human encounters only increases. Five rooms, thirteen months, one relationship that keeps carrying forward — and SeriesFest's programming runs year-round, all the way to Season 13. We'll be back.
